I couldn’t find where the Tea Party got an hours long, nationwide TV, cable and webcast “Town Hall” campaign speech – with no commercials – with Mr Hope barrysplaining the legitimacy of their grievances and their right to present them through peaceful, orderly protests and demonstrations. That includes the more ‘messy’ ones with stuff like murder, robbery, assault and arson because they too are part of our time-honored democratic traditions and rights as Americans to speak truth to power, loot liquor stores and burn shit down. Blocking freeways is cool too.
I just couldn’t find a thing on that anywhere. Odd.
Remember when he stood up and defended the concerned citizens who called themselves the Tea Party? How about the ones peacefully protesting federal land grabs out west? Remember when he said any act of gun violence wasn’t reflective of all gun owners? I mean, especially when all of those ignorant, racist Teabaggers burned down buildings, sacked and looted stores, blocked traffic and shot up the police? That would make these statements totally consistent and fair…if anyone can show me where he ever defended anyone who ever protests HIM.
And notice how he shags his craven, lying ass overseas to address this shit?
“There were times when activists engaged in rhetoric that was overheated and occasionally counterproductive,” Mr. Obama conceded, “but the point was to raise issues… I think what you’re seeing now is part of that long standing tradition.”
“I don’t think that you can hold well-meaning activists who are doing the right thing and peacefully protesting responsible for everything that is uttered at a protest site,” he continued. “This week people felt hurt and angry and so some of this is just venting, but I think that the overwhelming majority of people who are involved in the Black Lives Matter movement — what they really want to see is a better relationship between the police and the community so they can feel that it’s serving them.”
